Q & A
What does ESD mean?
ESD stands for Electrostatic Discharge.
If something is labeled EPA, what does it mean?
EPA stands for ESD Protected Area, a surface or room that is protected from ESD and ESD protection guidelines must be considered and followed.
What is the difference between dissipative and conductive properties?
ESD protection products have different conductive characteristics and are classified as dissipative (resistance range >1x104 Ω – <1x1011 Ω), conductive (<1x104 Ω) and conductive.
What is the difference between a dissipative package and a shielded package?
Shielded packaging (bags, cartons, boxes, etc.) has a shielding layer in the structure, usually a metal layer, that prevents electrostatic discharge from penetrating the package and protects sensitive electronics. All sensitive electronic devices (ESDS Static Sensitive Devices) must be stored and shipped in shielded packaging outside the EPA.
Dissipative packaging is primarily used to bring mechanical/non-ESD sensitive materials and components within the EPA, dissipative bags can also provide dust protection for ESD sensitive products and materials within the EPA.
How to best store ESD protection materials to extend shelf life and maintain product quality?
Most dissipative products are perishable, the active substances in them will deteriorate and decompose over time, most products/materials have a durability guarantee of 6-12 months, but some materials have a 3 year warranty Functional guarantee and permanent performance. Common to most dissipative materials is that their properties are affected by UV radiation - so store the material in a dark place and/or in a closed box.
Can other customized products (bags, cushions, foam, etc.) and special products be ordered according to customer needs?
Of course, we can adjust and cut the cushions, cartons and foam to the desired size and specification. We also have excellent opportunities and flexibility to develop custom products, please feel free to contact us with your questions or needs, we will do our best to help you.
What are the internal dimensions of the Fami box?
